my Ballard lives in southern Idaho with her husband Tyler and their two children. She has worked as a newspaper correspondent for five years and is a published poet. In her magazine articles, Amy expresses her interest in Idaho people and Camas Prairie history.  Her hobbies are reading, research, skiing, enjoying the outdoors, crafts, art, networking and photography. An Idaho-certified teacher, Amy plans to home school her children. Her mother, who home schooled Amy and her five siblings in Maine, is  novelist Susan Page Davis.

Honors

In 2002 Amy received six Honorable Mentions for poems entered in ByLine contests. These were her first literary successes, though she had previously had poems published in a craft magazine. Here are the honored titles, all still unpublished:

Publications

Newspapers in which Amy's articles have appeared include the Times-News of Twin Falls, Idaho, the Wood River Jornal of Hailey, Idaho, the El-Wyhee Highlights of Mountain Home, Idaho, and the Camas Courier of Fairfield, Idaho. At least one of her stories has been picked up by the AP. Her photos have been published in the above newspapers as well as the Seattle Times, the Idaho Statesman, the Idaho Mountain Express and other regional newspapers.
