Welcome
The camas lilies are amazing this year! Our visit to the Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh yielded some great photos. The day was a bit overcast and the mosquitoes were out in full force, but we had a lot of fun. Sadly, the rain prohibited the Shoshone-Bannock dancing that was scheduled for June 1. The Camas County Public Library sold out of walking tacos (I got the last one!) in spite of the weather. My daughter and I caught a rainbow trout at a fishing derby, and the Camas Art Council had a kick-off party. All in all, a fun Camas Lily Day weekend!
I always enjoy Writer's Digest's annual list of the top Web sites for writers. The 101 Best of 2008 are out now.
Tyler and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Gary Hunt, founder of Iconoclast Books in Ketchum and Sun Valley, Idaho. Gary passed away last month. He was a dear friend to people who knew him well or had just met him once. His legacy will endure in the literary community and in the hearts of his family and friends. The Gary A. Hunt Writer-in-Residence program has been created as a memorial. To give to the Hunt/Hedrick David children's fund, visit the Idaho Mountain Express.
The spring edition of Words-Myth online poetry journal contains my poem, Healing on a Prairie. This
was my first real foray into poetry writing since "Sego Lilies" appeared in 2003 in Open Spaces Quarterly, a beautiful print magazine of the Pacific Northwest. Enjoy!

Amy's article, "A People's Pride," appeared in Bead & Button magazine. Read it online. Beadwork artist and Shoshone-Bannock Indian Audrey Bearing tells how her heritage shapes her craft.
